Candle Quartz is sometimes referred to as Pineapple Quartz because of it's resemblance to the shape of a pineapple. Rather than one point a candle quartz is a family group of similar points flowing around the face of the gem's body. It also can often look like a dripping candle.

In ancient Japanese mythology, clear crystal quartz was regarded as a symbol of perfection and was believed to be the physical form of a white dragon's breath. Dragons were a symbol of generosity and benevolence so the crystal quartz also had that regard.
